The fifth wave of COVID-19 is coming to converge in Japan. On October 1, the Emergency Declaration was lifted throughout Japan, and it seems that the new normal shifts to the next stage.
The percentage of people who have received the required number of vaccinations is now 60% (Ref. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations?country=OWID_WRL), and a Japanese pharmaceutical company is aiming to file for approval of a coronavirus drug by the end of 2021.

With these positive signs beginning to emerge, inquiries to Franchise Japan began to increase gradually in August. Recently, we have received inquiries from Turkey, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Nigeria, Canada, Pakistan, Laos, Hong Kong, the U.K., the U.S., India, and Vietnam for franchise brands such as 100-yen shops, okonomiyaki, ramen, laundromats, fried foods, yakiniku, coffee shops, and izakaya. There are also cases that foreigners residing in Japan wish to develop franchise shops/stores in Japan.

Now Franchise Japan is setting up a remote initial meeting between overseas franchise candidates and franchisors in Japan, but it looks like face-to-face meetings in Japan will be coming back after a year and a half.
