Potato and chestnut contents
It may be the influence of the Corona stay-home, but it seems that even slightly expensive products are selling well in Japan. In some places, sweets sold in supermarkets for around 100 yen are being sold as luxury sweets by the masters of the licensing business. Shiboritate Mont-Blanc is a new concept where you can get quality, freshly squeezed Mont-Blanc right in front of you. Searching for Mont Blanc, I found "Kuriza - Waguri Mont Blanc specialty store" in Kyoto, where people wait in line. In addition, the image of sweet potatoes has certainly changed in recent years. Baked sweet potato specialty stores have appeared on the market. A friend of mine said, "I thought sweet potatoes were cheap, but when I buy some, they cost over 1,000 yen.” Recently, a Japanese sweets shop near my office called "Mori no Okashi", which is famous in Osaka, has always a line of customers. The restaurant is sold out and closed around 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The recent trend in Japanese sweets stores is to simplify the display, not to compete with the abundance of quantity. They don't put all the products at once but only shows a sample of each product.
