JD.com China plans to open 1000 robot restaurants by 2020
JD.com, China's second-largest ecommerce company, will start developing an unmanned robot restaurant. A customer orders with a smartphone, and the robot handles cooking, arranging, and serving. The company will open the first shop in August and aim for 1000 shops by 2020. The largest Alibaba group develops restaurants that do not place people in the cash register, but JD.com is competing with completely unmanned.
