FamilyMart enters fitness business
FamilyMart will open a fitness club with a convenience store in Tokyo next February, and then expands the same store to the suburbs. It seems that it is the first time for major convenience store to enter fitness business, operating a proprietary brand's 24-hour simplified fitness club on the second floor of a convenience store. In recent years the fitness market has expanded along with the heightened health consciousness and even women are easy to come in fitness clubs because convenience stores have shoppers even at night, thus synergistic effects can be expected.
