Thai Beverage invests JPY37 billion to acquire more than 240 KFC stores
Currently, KFC has 600 directly managed and franchise stores in Thailand, which is Thailand's largest fast food chain. Thai Beverage, a major Thai alcoholic beverage, will start operating the franchise chain of KFC, the country's largest fast food shop.
The company acquires over 240 stores at about 11.3 billion baht (about JPY37 billion), which accounts for 40% of all KFC stores,.
Thai Beverage aims to break away from the business structure that depends on beer and other alcoholic beverages, and expansion of the food business is part of that.
Almost all shops directly operated by Yam International (Thailand) with FC right in Thailand, a subsidiary of Yam Brands, which owns KFC, will be handed over by the end of the year.
